LISTENING FOR EVERYTHING

A few weeks ago, I rediscovered my old Blogger page I started in 2019 called Listening for Everything. I had created it as a personal project, a place to study listening and practice it on purpose. Reading through those posts again, I found songs, polls, reflections, and small moments that reminded me how much that practice has shaped me.

For most of my life, I was the storyteller in the room. I loved the laugh, the attention, the well-timed punchline. Somewhere along the way, I started noticing what I missed while I was busy talking. Listening became a practice, and over time I found joy in hearing other people’s stories before telling my own. That curiosity led me to the work I do today as a coach and facilitator.

Finding the old blog inspired me to gather what I learned into a short series of six essays. I’m sharing them with you, and I’m also writing them as a reminder to myself. The storyteller in me still wants the mic now and then.
